Al Nasr top the standings followed by Al Ain; 33 goals scored in 4th round
Dubai – based Al Nasr consolidated their position at the top of the Etisalat Pro – League standings with ten points following a 6-1 drubbing in the fourth round game over lowly Ittihad Kalba to retain their unbeaten record. Al Nasr dominated the one – side match to assure their loyal fans that they will continue on top of the ladder and maintain a one-point difference between them and their closest rivals Al Ain and Bani yas.
Al Ain raised their tally to 9 points that put them as runners – up after beating Dibba Al Fujairah 5-1 at Khalifa bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain city. Bani Yas also jumped to third position with the same balance of Al Ain after stunning Al Shaab with a 4-2 win at Al Shamkha Stadium while the losers have only 6 points in 8th place.
Al Wasl were classified one step behind Bani Yas with 8 points following a two straight goals win over Ajman on their pitch in a match in which they missed their French coach Bruno Metsu who is sick since last week.
In Al Ahli – Al Shabab Dubai derby played at the formers’ Stadium, Al Ahli came up with a big win beating their rivals Al Shabab 5-1 in one of the most beautiful games, for Al Ahli to raise their balance to 7 points in 5th position while Al Shabab are sitting in 11th place with only three points.
Dubai are one of the most beneficiaries in this round as they succeeded in collecting full points with a stunning 2-1 victory over Al Wahda in the encounter held at the latters’ Stadium in Abu Dhabi. The winners stepped forward taking 6th position with a record of 7 points, the same balance that has been collected by Al Dhafra in 7th spot who overcame Al Jazira the most nominated team to bag the title of this season.
All 7 matches of this round ended with a win which led to disengagement between a number of teams which have been sharing points prior to the fourth round.
Thirty three goals were scored in the 7 games of the previous round with a percentage of 5 goals per match. Each of Senegalese player Sengahoor of Bani Yas and Al Ahli Brazilian star Graffiti netted a hat trick in their games against Al Shaab and Al Shabab respectively for the latter to raise his tally to 9 goals from four matches the same that of Al Ain Ghanaian striker Asamoah Gyan. Al Wasl Uruguayan Al Faro who did not score in the last round, has 6 goals taking third place followed by Sengahoor in fourth position.
