Al Nasr lead the standings; 39 goals the outcome of the third round

Al Nasr are sitting on top of the league table with 7 points following their valuable 4-2 over neighbors Al Shabab in the Etisalat Pro League third round match while five other teams have collected 6 points each. But Al Ain are classified in the second position on goal difference followed by Al Shaab, Al Wahda, Al Jazira and Bani Yas in the 3rd , 4th, 5th and 6th places respectively. Al Wasl are taking 7th spot with 5 points ahead of Al Ahli, Dubai and Al Dhafra who have collected 4 points each that put them in the 8th, 9th and 10th positions on goal difference respectively. Al Shabab remain with their three-point balance in the 11th point while Dibba Al Fujairah and Ajman who have maintained a single draw so far, are sitting in the 12th and 13th places. Ajman are classified at the bottom of the table and are still to open their account after losing all three games.

Thirty nine goals was the outcome of the seven encounters played in the third week with a percentage of 5 goals per game. The Ghanaian striker Asamoah Gyan of Al Ain team, who netted a hat – trick against Al Dhafra, is leading the scorers with 7 goals followed by ِAl Ahli Brazilian attacker Grafite and Al Wasl Uruguayan front liner Al Faro in the second spot with 6 goals each and then Al Shaab Brazilian forward Rodrigo Vergillo who is taking third place with 5 goals. Both Nasser Khamis and Mohammed Abdulrahman strikers of Al Shaab and Al Ain are leading the local players with 3 goals each in their records.

The Pro League matches will come to a halt for 15 days after the third round was over due to the participation of the UAE Senior Football Team who will play two friendly games. The stoppage period will be a good chance for some teams to put themselves on the right track especially those who came up with poor results in the first three rounds. All 14 professional teams will shift to play the Etisalat Cup 2nd and 3rd rounds scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, October 9 and 10 and Sunday and Monday 14 and 15 of the same month. The stoppage period is also an opportunity for all teams to prepare a number of players for the league remaining matches which will restart on Saturday and Sunday, October 20 and 21.
