The bottom teams play under the slogan “win and only win”
All the Etisalat Pro League round 21 six matches for this season will be played on Friday, May 11, kick off at 7:40pm. The outcome of this penultimate round may reveal the teams who may relegate to the First Division when the threatened squads Sharjah, Emirates and Dubai face Ajman, Al Nasr and Al Wasl respectively. This round will also witness Abu Dhabi derby between fifth-placed Al Wahda and Al Jazira who are classified in 4th position, in addition to another important game in which Al Ain will host Al Shabab who are endeavoring to continue their positive results in the league of this season in order to stay within the top four. The sixth-placed Al Ahli and the 9th-placed Bani Yas will play the last game of this round with all the hope to better their positions.
Difficult games
Sharjah, who are staying at the bottom of the table with 10 points, will take on Ajman at the latters' home ground. The visiting team will play under the slogan "win and only win" as any other outcome means an official relegation to the First Division. Ajman are aspiring to raise their tally to 31 points and regain the fifth position which they lost in round 20, while Dubai, second from the bottom with 14 points, will host Al Wasl. The hosts are lucky enough in all their games played in this season against Al Wasl as they beat them 2-1 in the first leg of the league and 5-0 and 3-0 in the Etisalat Cup Competition.
Abu Dhabi Derby
The fifth-placed Al Wahda and the fourth-placed Al Jazira will meet at Al Nahyan Stadium in Abu Dhabi in a thrilling and balanced match. Al Jazira's Brazilian coach Caio Junior will field his best probables unlike his game against Al Nasr when he played with a mixed line up and lost 5-1. Al Wahda beat Al Wasl in the previous round and they are seeking a win in this match to raise their balance to 33 points.
In the other matches of the day, Al Ain, Champions of the Etisalat Pro League with 49 points, will play at home against visitors Al Shabab who are taking third spot with 37 points. Al Ahli who are sitting in sixth position with 28 points will host ninth-placed Bani Yas with 23 points at Rashid Stadium. The hosts defeated Bani Yas 3-2 in their league first leg game.
