Emirates defeat Al Jazira 3-2 to hinder their competing march

 

Emirates team came up with a deserved win when they overcame the visiting squad Al Jazira 3-2 within the Etisalat Pro League 17th round match held tonight on the winners' pitch in Ras Al Khaimah.

Al Jazira lost three invaluable points that might affect their title race after their balance was frozen at 32 points while the winners moved a little bit forward collecting 14 points and increased their chance to avoid relegation.

The hosts were the better side with Moroccan pro. Mohsen Mitwali and Waleed Anbar exerting good efforts. The losers were suffering a lot and their duo players Oliveira and Bare were forced to retreat back to help the midfielders and try to create some attacks. Waleed Anbar came close to put the hosts ahead in the 21st minute, but Al Jazira's custodian Ali Khusaif saved bravely. But Diyara netted the first goal 8 minutes later with a strong left footer off a corner kick. The visiting team made some positive movements, organized their lines trying to level the score but failed to benefit from all the chances that came their way. Diyara was almost to add his second goal three minutes before the interval off a cross ball, but the goalkeeper Ali Khusaif saved the day for Al Jazira ending the first half with a lone goal win.

Al Jazira squandered two successive chances three minutes after the break through Oliveira with a perfect header and Delgado, but the later leveled the score in the 52nd minute off a pass from Oliveira. Diyara from Ivory Coast was brought down by Al Jazira defender Lucas inside the box for a penalty and Mohsin Mitwali made no mistake to make it 2-1 in the 67th minute. Sultan Bargash brought the game back to the first square ten minutes to the final whistle. But Al Jazira's joy did not live long when Lucas repeated the same mistake inside the six yard area with Diyara for a second penalty. Mohsin Mitwali made it 3-2 off the penalty kick in the 84th minute to secure three invaluable points to his team.
