Flores Quique: I am here to win trophies
The Al Ahli Spanish coach Flores Quique assured the importance of the Etisalat Cup final match against Al Shabab which will be played on Monday May 21 at Al Maktoum Stadium in Al Nasr Club. He said in a press conference held at Al Nasr Club in the presence of the team’s Brazilian striker Graffiti: “Both teams Al Ahli and Al Shabab, who have equal technical standard, deserve to qualify to the final game after demonstrating brilliant display in the championship especially their semifinal encounters where Al Shaba beat Al Jazira at their home ground and Al Ahli overcame their city rivals Al Wasl in a strong match”.
Quique pointed out that the game will witness a balanced performance between the two squads and therefore he will field in the fit key players who have high concentration. He added:” I worked before in similar atmospheres and will start the match without any excuses and moreover I have great confidence in my team. I think my players will play a good match and I am here to win trophies with my team”.
Commenting on the defensive errors committed by his players in their last games, Quique confessed that his team made many mistakes in their last Etisalat Pro League match against Bani Yas. He said:” But the ambitious to win the Etisalat Cup for this season will minimize those mistakes, as the players are fully aware of all their duties on the pitch.
On the other hand, the Al Ahli Brazilian striker Graffiti said that the match means a separate Championship and represents a good start for his side for the next season. He said that Al Ahli’s performance have improved well during the recent period.
Graffiti added:” I have a good feeling towards the final game, and the situation is different from what it was in the GCC Clubs Cup final when we lost to Al Shabab, because Al Ahli have changed a lot with improved conditions, and we are sure to win tomorrow’s game”.
