Al Ain and Al Nasr in Etisalat Cup round 9 high profile match
The Etisalat Cup Competition for this season will reach its penultimate round on Friday, February 1st when group stage round 9 will see 4 important games where Al Ain, leaders of Group “A” with 14 points, will host their opponents Al Nasr at the Tahnoun bin Mohammed Stadium in Qattara , kick off at 05:20 pm. Al Nasr are third with 11 points and a victory will put them at the top of the group thanks to the head-to-head matches between the two teams while a win will take Al Ain direct to the semi-finals, note that the first leg game between the two teams ended in a goalless draw.
At the same timing Al Wahda will play their last match in the group stage when they take on their counterparts Dubai at the latters’ Stadium in Al Aweer. Al Wahda are in second position in Group “A” with 13 points while Dubai are fourth with 4 points and the match for them is just a foregone conclusion. But Al Wahda are in need of full points to get the second best place at the very least, and have to wait and see the outcome of Al Ain Vs. Al Nasr encounter in the same round, besides both Al Nasr Vs. Dubai, Al Shaab Vs. Al Ain round 10 matches
In the third game, which will be held at 8:00pm at Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium in the capital Abu Dhabi, Al Jazira will face Ittihad Kalba, within Group “B” matches. The match is not important for Kalba, but it is of great importance for the "Formula" who are leading the group with11 points, and need to win to move away from their nearest rivals Bani Yas and Al Dhafra, who are occupying second and third places respectively with 10 points each.
In the concluding game of this round which will be played at the same timing, Bani Yas will host their counterparts Al Wasl at Al Shamkha Stadium, where the two teams are looking for a win. Bani Yas are staying in second place with 10 points, and must win to keep their hopes alive in the competition, at least for a second place in the group, note that this is the last match for Al Wasl in the group stage.
