The visiting team looked the better side from the word go after dominating the opening minutes. But the hosts, who played an attacking football, recovered quickly to demonstrate a balanced performance. They made some good efforts and attempts, created a number of scoring sitters but for their bad fortune all their work was in vain as they faced a solid defence. It was only 13 minutes into play before the Iraqi striker Karrar Jasim netted the opener with a left footer when he capitalized on a defensive blunder. Dibba Al Fujairah doubled their efforts trying to come back into the game and their professional player Abdulrazak Al Hussain was almost to level the scores but his long-range strong volley was deflected by Ajman’s goalkeeper who tipped the ball over the cross bar for a corner in the 33rd minute.
Dibba Al Fujairah controlled the match afterwards giving their opponents hard time and against the run of play, the Ivorian front liner Boris Cabi made it 2-0 three minutes before the interval when he drove the ball home into the left hand corner of the goalkeeper Mohammed Al Rawahi to give his side a 2-0 first half lead.
Dibba Al Fujairah’s players invigorated after the break making every bit of effort to reduce the lead, but their rivals’ defenders spoiled all their attempts. Boris Cabi could have made it 3-0 in the 56th minute, but his perfect header rebounded off the cross bar and the ball was cleared away by a defender. Abdulrazak Al Hussain reduced the arrears in the 71st minute off a dead ball that beat the goalie. Ajman finished the game with ten men when Karrar Jasim was shown the red card in the 76th minute. But despite of this sent off, Cabi came to score the third goal with a powerful header in the 78th minute and concluded the rout scoring a hat trick four minutes into stoppage time to end the game with a 4-1 victory.
