Emirates at their best
It is true the weather was cold and the temperature was close to 12 c, but that was not the case in Al Awir, the Ras Al Kahaima visitors flamed the pitch and thrashed their Dubai hosts with a rewarding smashing 4-2 victory in the encounter that took place this afternoon at Dubai Club Stadium within the second-half season premiere “Round 12” of the Etisalat Pro League competition.
A good refreshing second term to begin with for Emirates, leaving the 12th place in the table for Dubai to handle, the 28 year-old new Ivorian joiner Diarra proved to be Al Benzarti good choice and succeeded to make a difference just in two matches. It was Dubai though who started the scoring when Camara netted the first goal in the 15th minute, but sooner Diarra compensated and scored the equalizer in the 18th minute. Another long shot from outside the box netted Emirates’ and Diarra’s second goal in the 33rd minute. A significant pass from Diarra to Keita inside the 6 yards gifted the falcons another goal in the 37th minute to end the first half with a 3-1 victory to the visitors.
The second half was never less exciting, just at the beginning Diarra again was about to gift his team another score in the 55th minute that unfortunately missed the way. Hassan Abdelrahman made an outstanding score and conquered the crowds inside the 6 yards and netted Dubai’s second goal in the 71st minute. The match was about to end this way but the Moroccan Mohsine Moutaouali surprised his opponents with a last minute shot and scored a remarkable 4th goal to Emirates in the 91st minute.
Emirates with 7 points move forward to the 11th position on the standings with rising hopes now to remain in the competition, while Dubai who had to suffer a defeat at home move to the bottom of the table with 6 points.
