Al Wahda outclass Dubai with a 3-2 victory

Al Wahda came from behind when they were two goals down in the first session to beat Dubai 3-2 after scoring three goals after the break in the Etisalat Cup round 9 encounter played this evening at Al Aweer Stadium to raise their tally to 16 points on top of Group “A” while the losers are fourth with only 4 points.

Both teams started the game with great care with the visiting team looked the better side after controlling the game making some nice attempts. But against the run of play, the hosts took the lead in the 21st minute through Faisal Ali who benefited off a defensive error and their Brazilian Juliano Roberto added the second in the 34th minute with a powerful header ending the first session with a 2-0 win in favour of Dubai.

Ali Ahmad of Dubai scored an own goal in the 58th minute to help Al Wahda reduce the deficit and Salem Saleh brought the game into parity in the 71st minute. Mohammed Al Shehhy netted the winner for Al Wahda nine minutes to official  time capitalizing on the Papa Waigo cross ball to secure three valuable points for his side.
