Al Nasr beat Dubai 2-1 to maintain first win
Al Nasr beat Dubai 2-1 in the second day of the Etisalat Pro-League fourth round match played tonight at Dubai pitch in Al Aweer. It was the first victory for Al Nasr who raised their balance to four points from four matches and moved to 8th position while Dubai are at the bottom of the table with one point from three losses and one draw.
The winners played brilliantly especially before the break due to their effectiveness of their midfield led by Breciano from Australia, Brazilian Lima, Humaid Abdullah and Habeeb Al Fardan who controlled the midfield zone in a way that made things difficult for Dubai midfielders. Lima gave Al Nasr the lead only 13 minutes into play off a stand ball switched by Mohammad Ali in front of the goal mouth for Lima to jump high to drive it home capitalizing of a severe error committed by the goalkeeper Ahmed Salim.
Al Nasr scored their second goal two minutes later via Breciano after a quick attack. Humaid Abdullah sent a strong volley that hit on his colleague's back Amara Diane to return to Breciano who put it into the right hand side of Dubai goalie to make it 2-0. Hassan Mohammad pulled one back in the 18th minute off a rocket-like shot after exchanging the ball with Kamara. Nabil Al Daoudi, Hassan Mohammad and Kamara made some good attempts, but Al Nasr's defense spoiled all their attacks. The winner's striker Carica was unhappy to see his volley hit the upright and pass away. Dubai pressed hard in the last minutes including the five-minute injury time but failed to level the score.
