Dubai surprise Al Wasl with a humiliating 5-0 win

Dubai made a big surprise and maintained a historic win when they overcame their city rivals Al Wasl with a humiliating 5-0 win in their 4th round match of the Etisalat Cup held this evening on Dubai's Sports and Cultural Club Stadium. The winners raised their tally to six points, the same that of Al Wasl, but they take third place after beating  Al Wasl in head-to-head match who moved two steps downward to stay in fourth spot.

Both teams started the match with great care with their defenders keeping an eye on the front liners of their opponents. They created very few scoring chances. But Dubai looked the better side after controlling the game with good movements. Their Moroccan striker Nabil Al Daoudi squandered a lovely sitter in the 32nd minute when he was put clear off a pass sent by his teammate Abu Bakr Kamara, but Al Daoudi failed to score. All five goals were scored after the interval as both teams were tied to a goalless draw by the end of the first half.

Dubai controlled the midfield zone and looked the dangerous side due to the efforts exerted by dynamic player Abu Bake Camara from Guinea who played his best game with Dubai since his transference from Kalba last season.

Al Wasl led by Donda, Oliveira and Essa Ali tried to reach Dubai's net but defenders Kazim Ali, Malalla and Ismail stood solid on their way.

Kamara opened the score when he received a pass from Hassan Mohammad, stepped forward before launching a strong shot to the right hand side in the 58th minute. His colleague Hassan Mohammad made it 2-2 in the 71st minute when he hooked the ball over the advancing goalie. Dubai showed superiority over the visiting team to add three more goals through Cimon Fondono, Nabil Al Daoudi and Abu Bakr Kamara in the 77th, 89th and 91st minutes respectively to end the game with a 5-0 win.

On the other hand Emirates made another surprise when they beat the hosts team Al Wahda 3-2 in the match played tonight on Al Nahyan Stadium in Abu Dhabi in the fourth round of Etisalat Cup Competition. The winners moved one step forward to take fifth spot with a balance of 4 points, one point ahead of Al Wahda who slipped to the bottom of Group "A".

The match referee Sultan Al Marzogi awarded the home team a penalty only 14 minutes from the word go when defender Mohammad Ali Omer fouled Mohammad Ahmed Gasim inside the box. Brazilian Fernando Bayno squandered the penalty kick as Emirates Goalkeeper Ahmed Ibrahim saved bravely. The referee pointed for another penalty but this time it was in favor of Emirates as a result of a foul committed by Abdullah Jasim against Malik Ahmed and Al Hassan Keita made no mistake driving the ball into the net giving his side the lead in the 34th minute to end the first session with a 1-0 win for the visiting team.

Keita came to make it 2-0 five minutes after the break and Brazilian Magraow reduced the deficit scoring his team's first goal in the 54th minute with a perfect header and his colleague Haitham Atiq leveled the score in the 77th minute.

Both teams went on their attempts trying to net the winner, but it was Emirates who successeded to score the third goal in the last minute of the game securing a 3-2 victory for his team
