The Dubai Sports Council's Annual Educational Program on Professionalism
The second phase of "the Dubai Sports Council's annual educational program on professionalism" Launched earlier this week, which comes in terms of the development of the cubs and youth sector and includes several training courses as well as a specialized lectures intended for the players, coaches and the clubs’ administrations to spread the culture of professionalism in clubs and sports institutions and enhance the professional performance of all the administrative and technical staff.
The second stage commenced last Tuesday in Al Shabab club with a lecture on doping control under the supervision of Dr. Ahmad Al Hashemi Chairman of the National Anti-Doping Committee, and the presence of Ali Omar, Director of clubs and athletic performance at Dubai Sports Council who confirmed the Council’s keen to promote ways to combat and raise awareness for the risks and negative effects of doping in cooperation with the National anti-Doping Agency, he said, "this program comes under the consistent guidance for all the young players before entering the stage of professionalism, and Dubai Sports Council has always been keen to annually hold workshops and lectures about doping in educational programs targeted to the players and administrators, besides the Dubai Sports Council has held two years ago in cooperation with the National Anti-Doping Committee an educational seminar on doping to all the Dubai Clubs’ participants.”
The second phase also sees lectures on "the concept of professionalism" by Tawfik Alzahroni from the Dubai Sports Council, noted that the second phase will also include an (ICDL) training course in order to develop the academic side of the players, workshops on players’ contracts, lectures on local and international sports organizations with interest in football as well as two specialized training courses on fitness and goalkeeping for the coaches of young players.
It is worth mentioning that the first phase had seen a training course for all the clubs’ technical and medical staff on first aid during the games and how to rehabilitate injured players, an English course for the administrators, besides special lectures on management skills, sports psychology and lectures on the rules of football arbitration.
