Dubai signs Argentinean coach Clawzon Ronaldo
Dubai Football Club has signed a one-season contract with Argentinean coach Clawzon Ronaldo to coach the Senior Team for the next season. This was announced in a press conference held on Saturday and attended by Rashid Hassan Helli, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Club, Saeed Rashid Al Helli, Member of the Club's Board of Directors, and Mubarak Hakim the Club's Director. Mustafa Sweep will continue as assistant coach, Mohammed Eid was appointed as goalkeeper trainer and Argentinean Alejandro Nordeo as the fitness coach. The Club also announced the appointment of retired player Haitham Rabei as an administrator of the team to replace Khalid Al Kaabi.
Rashid Al Helli stressed that a local assistant coach will soon be appointed as well as the rest of the professional players with the exception of the French player Michael Laurent and Guinean Camara whose contracts were terminated.
Ronaldo (49 years), the third Argentinean coach to work in the UAE Pro-League, expressed his happiness to coach the Dubai team, emphasising that he has done a lot of research into the team and the standard of football in UAE. He is already familiar with GCC football as he previously worked as an assistant coach to Frenchman Claude Le Rowa in 2007/2008 for the Sultanate of Oman's National Football Team.
