Dubai maintained second win beating Bani Yas 6-3

Dubai beat Bani Yas with a 6-3 win in the match played this evening at the winners' pitch in the week 7 of the Etisalat Cup competition. The hosts netted three goals apiece to end the first half with a 3-1 lead. Abu Bakr Kamara was the first to score when he hit the back of the net only nine minutes into the game giving the home team an early lead. But Thamir Mohammed Ahmad scored the equalizer for Bani Yas only two minutes before the break. The winners came to add two goals in three minutes through Sami Anbar who netted the second in the last minute of the first half and  Abu Bakr Kamara made it 3-1 one minute into the injury time.

Dubai continued their strong performance to surprise the visiting team with the fourth goal by Haitham Rabei in the 62nd minute. Bani Yas reduced the deficit scoring two goals through Omani player Fawzi Basheir and Ahmad in the 84th and 86th minutes respectively. But Dubai netted two more goals four and two minutes to time through Hassan Abdul Rahman and Michel Loran.

This win which was the second for Dubai since the start of the competition, helped them to jump forward to raise their tally to 9 points and it was the second defeat for the losers who have collected seven points so far. Bani Yas missed the efforts of their defender Hassan Zahran who was shown the red card in the 59th minute to finish the game with only ten players.

In the second match of today, Kalba defeated leaders of the second group Al Wasl 2-0 to take 3rd position with 11 points while the visiting team remain on top of the table with 12 points. The two teams ended the first session with a goalless draw. Ibrahim Abdullah put the home team on the lead in the 61st     minute and his colleague Gregory added the second five minutes to the final whistle to secure the result for his side.

In the concluding game of "week 7", Al Wahda maintained their second win in the Etisalat Cup  to snatch three valuable points after defeating Al Nasr with a solitary goal in the match played at Al Nahyan Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Omer Ali scored the all-important goal of the match two minutes before the final whistle capitalizing off the ball that rebounded off the goalkeeper's hands. Both teams have collected 8 points so far, but Al Wahda won the head-to-head game this evening to stay one step ahead of Dubai-based Al Nasr who are classified in the 5th place in the second group.
