Dubai hold Al Wahda to a 1-1 draw

The Dubai team have added a single point to raise their tally after forcing visitors Al Wahda to a 1-1 draw in their match played today November 30 at Dubai stadium in Al Aweer in the 6th week of the Etisalat Cup competition.

The hosts have collected 6 points the same balance of Al Dhafra. As both teams have the same difference of goals with Dubai scoring 11 and conceding 12 and Al Dhafra netting 7 and conceding 8 , and the result of their head-to-head match was a draw, so  Dubai are classified  in the 4th position and Al Dhafra in the 5th place. Al Wahda are still at the bottom of group: "A" with five points. In spite of fielding all their key players, Al Wahda failed to snatch the three points as this would have raised their players' morals before going into the FIFA Clubs World Cup competition due to kick off on December 8 in Abu Dhabi.

Both Dubai and Al Wahda could not find the back of the net before the break despite of the handful of chances that came their way to end the first session with a goalless draw. But Al Wahda succeeded in taking the lead when their Brazilian player Fernando Bayano netted the first goal six minutes into the second half. The home team worked hard to level the score and their efforts were rewarded when Jasim Mubarak made no mistake in converting the penalty into the net in the 70th minute to end the game with a 1-1 tie.
