Dubai collects first point of the season

Dubai Club, which is currently at the bottom of the Etisalat Pro-League table with no points after losing each of the first five matches, has collected its first point of the 2010/2011 season with a 2 - 2 draw against hosts Al Dhafra in round one of the Etisalat Cup competition last night.

The visiting team surprised its opponents when striker Abou Bakr Kamara opened the score only three minutes from the start, giving his side an early lead. The home squad struggled hard to level the score, but their efforts were rewarded when Nigerian player, Abbas Moya, benefited from a golden chance to net the ball in the 27th minute, bringing the game back to square. His colleague Abdullah Al Kindy then added the second goal two minutes before the half-time break to help Al Dhafra end the first session with a 2 - 1 lead. Just as the match seemed set to secure three points for Al Dhafra, Abou Bakr Kamara made a comeback, scoring the equalizer one minute into the injury time, placing them at the halfway mark in the Group A ladder.

In the other games played last night, Sharjah and Al Wasl ended their match with a goalless draw at the former's pitch, and Al Shabab overcame hosts Al Jazira with a solitary goal, scored by Suroor Salim in the last minute of the first half.
