Dubai's Lebanese pro. visits the committee's stand in "Walk for Education"
Thousands of UAE residents took part in the "walk" which was organized by Dubai Cares in support of children in developing countries who walk daily for three kilometers to get to their schools and face tremendous obstacles in their pursuit of education or who are altogether unable to go to school. Among the UAE community participants were a number of school and university students and members of social clubs, members of governmental authorities and establishments. The Professional League Committee (PLC) also participated in the "Walk for Education 2012" which was organized on 17 February, 2012 aiming to shed light upon the importance of the role of primary education in breaking the cycle of poverty, promote the awareness of challenges that prevent children in developing countries from having primary education.
This annual event is set along Jumeirah Beach Road with a length of 3 kilometers, from 9 until 11 in the morning.
Mohammad Mohammad Fadil Al Hamli, Chairman of the Pro League Committee, assured the importance of participating in the" walk for education", noting that all the institutions and national companies have to participate in various social events that are held across the UAE. He pointed out that the "walk" aims to feel what many students in developing countries around the world are suffering of, and the difficulty of transferring them from home to school, explaining that the committee's involvement comes in the framework of its responsibility not only towards the UAE society, but also towards various communities of developing countries.
Al Hamli said," The participation came via a stand where we met with a number of visitors who registered as friends of the committee. We also aimed through this participation to explain the role played by the committee in organizing the Etisalat Pro League, Etisalat Cup, Etisalat Super Cup and Etisalat Reserve League.
On the other hand, Dubai's Lebanese striker Abbas Atwa, assured after a visit to the committee stand in the walk, the importance of meeting the various communities of the UAE society, praising at the same the steps followed by the Professional League Committee to encourage and increase the number of fans attendance in the various competitions it organizes. He Said, "Attention must be given to publicity and advertising for the UAE League and various championships, through participation in various social activities, in addition to the provision of prizes and competitions in the courts of the clubs to encourage fans attendance".
Commenting on Dubai's situation at the bottom of the standings with only 7 points, Atwa said "We still have 8 games in the League championship in which we have to achieve good results, especially that Emirates and Sharjah are still not far from Dubai and the difference in points is still possible to reduce".
