Al Dhafra v Kalba Pre-Match Press Conferences
Al Dhafra head coach Laurent Banide stressed the importance for his side to win at home to bottom side Kalba at the Hamdan bin Zayed Stadium at 6pm on Friday. Speaking at his pre-match press conference, the Frenchman said; “We need to collect full points from the teams below us in the League, so I will focus on playing an attacking game and exposing Kalba’s defensive frailties.” Banide also pointed out that the exclusion of striker Amara Diane from the last game was due to defensive tactical reasons, with each match requiring a different approach, but the decision to leave Diane out in no way diminishes his value as a player for the team.
Kalba coach Ze Mario spoke boldly at his pre-match press conference, stating that his side is not travelling all the way to western region Al Dhafra just for the journey, but to return home with three points as they fight to stay in the League. The Brazilian coach is aware of, but not afraid of the attacking threat of Al Dhafra, and insists his side will play an offensive game on their travels. However, they may have to do without some key players as Ze Mario touched on; “Gregory Dufrennes will not feature, and whilst Amer Deeb has rejoined the squad since returning from midweek international duty, the decision about whether he will be able to participate in the game will be left until after our final training session on Thursday.”
