Continuation of activities of “Dubai professional players’ learning and information exchanging program”

 

The second edition of "Dubai Professional Players' Learning & Information Exchanging Program" has been launched on Saturday 7th Jan. 2012 at Al-Wasl Club.

The Program is organized by Dubai Sports Council for the second successive year in the framework of activating the 6th Dubai International Sports Conference's recommendations in order to establish the right concept and culture of professionalism among the players through reviewing the successful experiences of those players who distinguished themselves during their successful in their sports career and social life, and they set an example for others in the community. The Algerian star Rabah Madjer, the only Arab player who won the European Champions League and pioneer achievements with his country, will take part in this year's event. Madjer had guided Porto Club to achieve the title of European Champions League in 1987 and he also played a vital role with other companions to enable the Algerian National Team qualify to the World Cup Finals in 1982.

Dubai Cultural Sports Club hosted two intensive workshops on Sunday and Monday morning 8th and 9th Jan. 2012, where Rabah Madjer gave a lecture focusing on player's professional life during & after sports career. Madjer assured in both workshops the importance of the players' commitment to the positive behaviors and working hard to improve their technical and physical standard.

 He also presented advices & guides to be adopted by players so that they can become eminent social persons after retirement; parts of these guides are: commitment, respect, sacrifice and exertion of diligence to boost intellectual & scientific abilities.

The workshop was held with massive response of Dubai Clubs ' players who are keen to meet top Arab football stars, throughout the history.

 Respective bodies of the Program made a visit to Al-Wasl Club on Saturday 7th Jan. 2012 to meet players. Madjer & Diego Maradona held a relevant meeting in which they tackled positive values to be acquired by the players; recalled nice memories of European football & world cup finals, held in 1980s.

The Program includes several workshops, to be held at Dubai clubs. In this respect, Al-Shabab Club hosted a workshop on Sunday evening, while Al-Nasr Club hosted a workshop on Monday 9th Jan morning to be followed by another workshop, at Al-Ahli Club at 04:30 pm.

It is worth-mentioning that the Tunisian star, Zubair Biya joined the first edition of the Program, dealt with professional player's lifestyle with particular focus on player's moral & behavioral sides.

The Program's cultural lectures & workshops are decided to keep on for five years, taking into consideration that the Program focuses on three stages; these are: The stage that precedes the signature of Professionalism contract; the stage of practicing football as a professional and post retirement stage.
