Dubai Sports Council has completed their preparations to organize an activity of "Dubai walks in Al Aweer" on Thursday 23 February 2012 in cooperation with Dubai Sports and Cultural Club within the third round of Dubai program for physical activity "the pulse of Dubai" organized by the Council in cooperation with several governmental and private bodies in order to enhance the levels of community awareness of the importance of sport and physical exercises  to make it a way of life for  the community

Dubai Sports Council assured that the invitation is extended to all age and social categories to take part in the activity.

The participants will assemble at 8am at the mosque of Sheikh Ahmed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to walk in Al Aweer area for a distance of 3 km up to the Dubai Cultural and Sports Club, as the Council looks for spreading  health and physical benefits of such activities, in areas which are relatively far from the center of Dubai city, in a way that contributes in the expansion of the geographical area and  prepares practitioners of physical activities, as well as promoting the area as part of the council's continued support for sports tourism in the emirate.

The Dubai Sports Council had organized last month an activity in Hatta area with a wide social participation knowing that the third round has witnessed the organization of a variety of activities including: Dubai walks, Dubai tours with bikes and Dubai swims, where the program of pulse of Dubai is considered a means for spreading and supporting the idea of  physical activity amid social communities, and considered a part of the daily activity of the individual thus contributing to decrease the proportion of people with diseases of obesity, blood pressure, diabetes, and increase of physical and intellectual ability of the participants in these events and its positive impacts on their productivity.

The Council seeks to invest in public utilities provided by the government including courts, running and walking tracks and riding bikes in places and public parks as well as open beaches, in collaboration with many government bodies to maintain more factors of encouragement to exercise these activities in these public utilities provided with high level of equipment.
