Bani Yas defeat Sharjah 4-0 to snatch full points

Bani Yas came out with an important 4-0 win over their counterparts Sharjah in the Etisalat Cup 5th round game held this evening at Al Shamkha Stadium to jump from the bottom of the table to take 4th spot in Group "B" with 4 points while Sharjah remain in their previous balance to stay in 5th position with 4 points also, but the winners are one step ahead on goal difference.

The hosts scored their first goal through Ibrahim Saeed in the 22nd minute off a pass from Al Minhali and Adnan Hussain added the second in the 39th minute with an individual effort. Toni from Ivory Coast added the third goal four minutes into the second half and his Senegalese team mate Sangahoor completed the rout in the 82nd minute after rounding up many players before sending a left-footer into the net.

Both teams played a thrilling football in the opening minutes, exchanging a number of attacks before their performance dropped down afterwards. Toni came close to open the score for Bani Yas after receiving a through pass from Al Minhali but he failed to hit the back of the net after his volley touched the goalkeeper for a corner. 

At the start of the second half, Marcelo threatened Bani Yas' goal three minutes after the break but his shot hit the upright and returned to the same player who passed it to Salim Jasim but his volley missed the workwood.

The referee Essa Khalifa showed the yellow card twice to Sharjah's players Saeed Al Kas in the 62nd minute and the defender Igor in the 88th minute for their team to finish the game with only 9 players.
