Al Shabab beat Bani Yas 1-0

Dubai-based Al Shabab scored a significant 1-0 victory over their Abu Dhabi rivals Bani Yas in the encounter that took place in Al Shamikha Stadium in Abu Dhabi this evening at 5:50 pm within Round 16 of the Etisalat Pro League Campaign.

The match saw mutual control over the pitch at the beginning, but after 20 minutes the visitors became a real threat and successfully snatched their rewarding solitary goal through the Brazilian Ciel in the 26th minute. The hosts then pulled themselves together and were fiercely striving to level the score and put a lot of stress on their opponents, but the tough defensive wall of Al Shabab managed to survive the first interval with a 1-0 win to their own.

Bani Yas were even better in the second half, they created a lot of scoring chances and did try hard to break down the wall of their visitors, but the day was sealed for the Dubai side this evening and all the hosts’ attempts went goalless.

Al Shabab raised their tally to 30 points moving temporarily to the 3rd position waiting for a Al Ahli to do them a favor tonight in their match before the 3rd place occupiers Al Nasr, while Bani Yas stepped down to the 8th position keeping their 19 points on the standings and yet might fall to the 9th position in case Al Ahli beat Al Nasr as well.
