Bani Yas defeat Emirates 4-1 to maintain first win in the season
Bani Yas raised their tally to four points following their deserved 4-1 victory over Emirates in the Etisalat Pro-League fourth round match held this evening at Al Shamkha pitch. The winners jumped five steps forward to take fifth place provisionally with the same balance collected by Al Wahda.
It was the first win for Bani Yas in an official game this season. They played 7 matches before today's match; four in Etisalat Cup (lost in three and drew in one) and three games in the league competition ( lost twice and drew once), while Emirates lost the third successive game after maintaining their lone win in the first round to take 10th position with three points.
Tony opened the score for Bani Yas four minutes from the word go after receiving a pass inside the six yard area to send it into the left hand side of the goalkeeper.
Emirates team paid the price of the injuries which resulted in the absence of some of their players and that made the team lose their last three games. Their defense in today's match was weak and wide open in front of Bani Yas attackers who lost a number of chances.
Tony added the second goal 7 minutes after the interval off a volley sent by Sengahoor and rebounded off the goalie for Tony to drive into the net. Tony came to score a hat trick two minutes later off a penalty when Khalid Mohammad fouled Sengahoor inside the box to receive a red card for Emirates to finish the match with ten players. Sengahoor made it 4-0 in the 69th minute before Mohammad Ali Omer netted the consolation goal for Emirates to end the match with a 4-1 for Bani Yas.
