Bani Yas and Al Nasr draw 2-2

Bani Yas and Al Nasr snatched one point each after ending their Etisalat Pro League 18 round match with a 2-2 draw which was held this evening at the former’s Stadium in Al Shamkha. Al Nasr’s defender Ali Al Amri leveled the score in the last minute when his team were 1-2 down to save the day the Dubai-based squad. The hosts raised their tally to 20 points while the visitors have 33 points.

Bani Yas played more than 40 minutes with ten players when their midfielder Mohammed Fawzi was shown the red card only four minutes after the break. Both teams failed to create scoring chances in the opening minutes with Bani Yas players making some good movements to score an early goal while their rivals Al Nasr relied heavily on defensive tactics with only Amara Diane leading the offensive line in the absence of the Italian professional player Luca Tone due to injury and with both Australian Breciano and Habeeb Al Fardan sitting on the bench.

Ahmad Ali put the hosts into the lead in the 32nd minute with a rocket-like volley from outside the box that went into the left hand side of the goalkeeper Abdullah Mousa. Senegalese Andre Sengahoor was almost to add the second goal four minutes later, but his header was saved by the Al Nasr’s goalie. Al Nasr’s Italian coach Zinga brought in Younis Ahmed and Breciano to activate the offensive line and his team could not capitalize off the severe blunder committed by Bani Yas’s defender Thamir Mohammed only seconds before the break.

Sengahoor made it 2-1 with a perfect header in the 56th minute and Ali Amer brought the game to parity in the last minute to end it with a 2-2 draw.
