Bani Yas 0-0 Al Dhafra: Stalemate in Shahama

Bani Yas maintained an unbeaten start to their Arabian Gulf League season with a 0-0 draw at home to Al Dhafra, giving them 4 points from their opening two games. Al Dhafra registered their first point of the campaign after opening day defeat, as neither team could find a way to breach their opponents' defense.

Bani Yas began brightly with an early chance for the active Carlos Munoz, who later missed another good chance having been slid in by Haboush Saleh. Al Dhafra mounted their attacks in the direction of powerful striker Makhete Diop but he was unable to find a way through, and Bani Yas’ Yousef Jaber unleashed a shot from distance as the game looked for a goal. Haboush Saleh missed possibly the best opportunity of the first period to give his side the lead on the stroke of half time, having being put through expertly by a ball from Amer Abdulrahman, but the game remained scoreless at half time. The second half was punctuated with stoppages and substitutions and whilst Haboush Saleh, Carlos Munoz, Luis Farina and Nawaf Mubarak all went close for Bani Yas, and Makhete Diop and substitute Emmanuel Clottey worked hard up front for Al Dhafra, there was no way to break the deadlock and the game ended 0-0.
