Bani Yas and Al Ain draw 2-2 to remain in previous positions

AL Ain Football Team came back from Al Shamkha pitch with a lone point after a 2-2 draw with Ban Yas in their Etisalat Pro League six round match played this evening at AL Shamkha Stadium in Bani Yas club. Both teams remain in their previous positions where Al Ain are taking third place with 11 points and Bani Yas are staying in 7th spot with a balance of 6 points.

AL Ain Romania coach Olario Cosmin was compelled to make an early change when the team's striker Yasser AL Gahtani from Saudi Arabia was injured only one minute into play and Mohammad Salim was brought in to replace him. Senegalese professional striker Sengahoor was the first to find the back of the net when he headed home the ball switched from the left flank in the sixth minute. But Gyan Asamoah from Ghana brought  the game back to parity when he capitalized on a long pass sent by Argentinean player Scocco behind the defense for Asamoah to headed into the empty net over the advancing custodian Mohammad Ahmed in the 13th minute. The two teams made some good efforts afterward, but could not score more goals despite of creating some scoring chances that came their way. Argentinean Scocco was unhappy to see his close-range volley miss the workwood ten minutes before the break. But Fawzi Basheir from Oman gave Bani yas the lead three minutes before the end of the first session. Sengahoor received a long ball inside the box, he headed it to his teammate Fawzi who also headed it home to end the first half with a 2-1 lead for the home team.

Three minutes into the second session, the referee awarded AL Ain a penalty kick when Bani yas goalkeeper Mohammad Ahmed fouled Asamoah inside the box. Asamoah did not make a mistake to slam the ball home into the right hand side for a 2-2 draw. AL Ain depended in most parts of the game on long balls which were easily controlled by Bani Yas defenders.

Bani Yas put more pressure on the Al Ain squad and they came close to score in many occasions, but the visitors' defenders spoiled all their work. Cosmin fielded in Abdul Aziz Fayez to replace midfielder Mohammed Salim and then Mohammed Malalla to substitute Scocco three minutes to time. But both teams could not score in the last minutes to end the game with a 2-2 draw.
