Etisalat Reserve League Round 24 Review

Al Ain edged closer to the Etisalat Reserve League title with a 3-2 win over Bani Yas at the Bani Yas Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Monday. A Salem Abdullah goal and a brace from Yousef Ahmed were enough to hand the victory to Al Ain, whilst Bani Yas’ Khalid Al Mansoori was on target twice for the hosts. Al Ain now have 52 points at the top of the Etisalat Reserve League table, whilst Bani Yas remain 10th on 29 points.

Al Shabab kept up their pursuit of the leaders with a 3-1 win over Kalba’s Reserve side at the Kalba Union Sports & Cultural Club Stadium on Friday. The win gives Al Shabab 49 points in second place – just three off the top spot – whilst Kalba remain 11th with 22 points. Al Dhafra returned to the western region with all three points after beating Al Wahda 3-2 at the Al Nahyan Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Friday. The win gives Al Dhafra 47 points in 3rd place, pushing Al Wahda down to 4th with 44 points.

Al Nasr’s second string recorded an emphatic 5-0 victory over Ajman at the Al Maktoum Stadium in Dubai, giving the Blues 39 points in 5th place, whilst Ajman remain one position below them with 33. Dubai edged a 1-0 win over Al Wasl at the Dubai Sports & Cultural Club Stadium in Al Awir on Friday, to give the hosts 19 points in 13th place, whilst Al Wasl are 12th on 21 points.

Al Shaab held visiting side Al Jazira to a 0-0 draw at the Khaled bin Mohamed Stadium, leaving Al Shaab bottom of the table with 17 points, and Al Jazira sit 7th with 31. Al Ahli breezed past Dibba Al Fujairah 5-1 at the Rashid Stadium in Dubai, allowing the teams to switch places in the League with one another, as Al Ahli moved up to 8th on 31 points and Dibba Al Fujairah dropped a place to 9th with 29 points.
