The Red is back
Al Ahli scored a spectacular 3-1 victory over their Abu Dhabi-based counterparts Bani Yas and earned a rewarding 3 points in the match that took place this afternoon at the latter stadium in Al Shamikha Abu Dhabi within Round 10 of the Etisalat Pro League competition.
It was Majed Hassan who gifted the red knights the match first goal in the 4th minute, although both teams have suffered defensive blunders throughout the match, Bani Yas unlike Al Ahli could not take advantage of it and barely scored the early equalizer in the 24th minute through Yousef Jaber. The match most outstanding score came through Ismaeel Al Hamadi who effectively rounded his opponents inside the box and smoothly netted Al Ahli’s most significant second goal in the 34th minute to end the first half with a 2-1 victory to the visitors. The second half was far less exciting than it was in the last 15 minutes of the first half and it was until Grafite marked the match in red when he netted a right corner shot from inside the box in the 84th minute to add a 3rd rewarding score to the reds.
With 14 points the 2009 league champions overcome Ajman and the heartbroken Al Wasl to occupy the 6th position on the Pro League table, while Bani Yas remain 9th with 10 points on the standings.
