Bani Yas sign a one and a half season contract with Swedish Wilhelmsson

 

Bani Yas administration has signed a one and a half season contract with Swedish striker Christian Ulf Wilhelmsson Ex player of American Los Angeles side Galaxy. He played earlier for Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia, the Qatari team Al Ahli in addition to a number of European teams.

This was announced in a press conference held at Bani Yas Club headquarters in Al Showamekh district in Abu Dhabi, in the presence of HE Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Chairman of the club Board of Directors, HE Mubarak Awad bin Mihairoom Vice Chairman, Muslim Suhail Alkatheri board member of the football company and Saleh Ismail Director of the Senior Football Team.

The player expressed his great satisfaction after signing a contract with his new club, hoping to be an addition to the squad. He said, "I know Bani Yas and their good local players thoroughly well. I will try to make the required addition to serve the team and my objective is to bring happiness to the team’s supporters and gain their full confidence”.

It is worth mentioning that the player was born in the Swedish city Malmo on 8 December 1979 and began his professional football career with Swedish club Mjallby since 1997, before moving to the Norwegian Stabaek Club for 4 seasons.The player had spent his most beautiful days with Belgian Anderlecht club in season 2003-2004, before moving to the French club Nantes, then to Saudi team Al Hilal at the beginning of the season 2008-2009.

Wilhelmsson played for Al Ahli of Qatar on loan basis and then returned back in the winter transfer window in the last season to Al Hilal club. Before moving officially to Bani Yas, the player had signed a contract with the Los Angeles Galaxy Club, but he preferred to return once again to the region through his new club Bani Yas
