Oliveira scores the first hat trick to lead Al Wasl to a 3-0 over Sharjah
Oliveira from Uruguay led his team Al Wasl to a valuable win over Sharjah after scoring the first hat trick in the Etisalat Pro-League in the match held tonight at the winners' pitch in Zabeel. Al Wasl recovered from their 5-0 loss to Dubai last week in the 4th round of the Etisalat Cup. Oliveira netted his first goal off a penalty kick in the 16th minute, added the second in the 56th minute off Argentinean Donda's perfect pass and completed the rout in the 71st minute.
The two teams did not play well in the opening minutes but they recovered afterwards for Oliveira to threaten their rivals' goal with a strong shot from outside the penalty area but the ball rebounded off the left upright. The match referee Abdullah Al Ajil awarded Al Wasl a penalty in the 16th minute when Sulaiman Al Mughani fouled Oliveira who did not make a mistake sending the ball into the right hand side of the goalkeeper Yahya Mohammad.
The performance of both teams was confined to the midfield zone without a strong reaction from Sharjah to modify the result with the exception of some timid attacks, while Al Wasl did not stand folded hands for the referee to end the first half with a 1-0 for Al Wasl
Despite of Sharjah's improved display at the start of the second session, but Oliveira succeeded in scoring the second goal in the 56th minute after a smart pass from Argentine Donda. Sharjah then continued their attempts to reduce the deficit via Marcel and Mubaali, but without change in the outcome.
Oliveira scored the third goal in the 71st minute to top the league's scorers in the first week with three goals. The result remained the same in the last minutes for the referee to end it with a 3-0 for Al Wasl.
