Al Wasl and Al Shabab share points after a 2-2 draw

Al Wasl and Al Shabab shared the points of their Etisalat Pro League six round match held tonight at the formers’ pitch in Zabeel after a 2-2 draw for the hosts to raise their tally to 11 points taking second place behind leaders Al Jazira while Al Shabab collected their 9th point that put them in 4th spot.

Oliveira of Al Shabab sent an early warning to the home team with a strong volley that saved by goalkeeper Majid Nasir only 9 minutes from the word go and Waleed Abbas netted the first goal in the 19th minute despite of Majid Nasir’s successful save in the  first attempt, but the ball was collected by Essam Dhahi who passed it to Waleed and the latter did not hesitate to slam it home.

Al Wasl performance improved slowly for Darweesh Ahmed to score the equalizer six minutes before the break off a cross ball switched by Donda from the right flank. Darweesh jumped high to head the ball home into the right hand corner to make it 1-1 to end the first session with this result.

The Brazilian player Ciel added the second goal for Al Shabab three minutes after the interval with a perfect header off a cross ball sent by Waleed Abbas. Al Wasl made every bit of effort to level the score while Al Shabab tried their best to retain their one-goal difference depending on counter attacks. But Al Wasl’s efforts were paid dividends in the 82nd minute when their substitute Porta made it 2-2.The two teams went on trying to score more goals but they failed despite of the number of the scoring chances they have created in the last minutes to end the game with a 2-2 draw.
