Al Wasl defeat Bani Yas 1-0 to move to 5th position

Al Wasl overcame Bani Yas with a solitary goal in the game played tonight on their home ground in Zabeel within the 13th round of the Pro-League Competition for this season. They moved to fifth pace with 21 points the same balance collected by Al Shabab who are taking third spot on goal difference while the losers Bani Yas are sitting in the 9th position with only 13 points.

The two teams demonstrated a strong performance at the beginning of the game thanks to the dynamic moves made by Al Wasl and Bani Yas's players Donda from Argentine and Senegalese Sengahoor.

Juan Olivera from Uruguay netted the all-important goal of the match in the 18th minute capitalizing on Fahd Hadeed's perfect pass with a strong volley which went into the net after being deflected by a defender.

Most of the work was concentrated on the midfield zone afterwards with Bani Yas making good efforts looking for the equalizer. But Al Wasl who played with defensive tactics spoiled all their rivals' attempts to end the first half with a lone- goal win.

The losers pressed hard after the interval with all the hope to bring the game back to parity but all their work was in vain. Their Omani pro. Fawzi Basheir was almost to net the equalizer 11 minutes to time but Al Wasl's goalie Majid Nasir saved the day for his team giving them a 10 victory.
