Al Nasr saved by a penalty

Two was the spell that reined over tonight’s matches, with another 2-2 tie the curtains came down on round 8 after a breath taking surprising match between Al Wasl and their counterparts Al Nasr in the tough derby that took place this evening at Al Wasl Stadium in Zabeel within Etisalat Pro League competition.


Saved by a penalty, Al Nasr owe it to Fahed Masoud last minute foul inside the box which gifted Al Nasr a draw that tasted like victory. Al Nasr Brazilian striker Rodrigo flamed the pitch from the very beginning and netted for his team in the 4th minute, yet the team were not at their best of performance counting on counter attacks that led to nothing but it was clear that they had the mentality and the spirit not to leave the pitch zero pointed. Only few seconds before the end Lima Al Nasr Brazilian midfielder netted the penalty in the 95th minute.


Al Wasl, on the other hand with the absence of luck for the last 3 matches, yet playing home, they had the full spirit and in fact their performance reined the pitch. Donda netted Al Wasl first goal in the 43rd minute, followed by his team player Darwish Ahmed who scored Al Wasl second goal in the 60th minute, so close to a victory but another two missed shots and the unlucky penalty led to a disappointing draw.


Al Nasr with 14 points hold the 4th place on the table by the end of round 8 while Al Wasl hold the 6th with 12 points.
