Ajman 7th after a spectacular 4-2 victory against Al Wasl

Ajman thrashed their Zabeel rivals Al Wasl with a spectacular 4-2 victory in the outstanding and extremely exciting thrill which took place in Zabeel stadium in Dubai at 8:15 pm this evening in the Round 14 finale of the Etisalat Pro League competition.


The match that saw a total of six goals started with the hosts reining the pitch and had an early chance to open the scoring in the 6th minute through Olivera who smoothly sent a shot in the right side of the empty net from inside the box. But sooner Darwish Ahmed made it easier for his visitors when he gave them an equalizer and netted into his own goal with a header in the 20th minute.


Motivated by the draw Boris Kabi quietly added the second goal for the orange from inside the penalty zone in the 24th minute and this put a lot of pressure on the yellows who found themselves trying to level the score. Khalatbari tackled two defenders finding his way into the net and sent a shot but it hit the outside left of the goal to end the first session with a 2-1 win to the visiting team.


The second half of the game was even more exciting than the first with two penalties and another orange score that set the pitch on fire. It was Tia Oliver who chested down a pass coming from Kabi and tackled a defender before he shot confidently into the right corner of the substitute goalkeeper Ali Al Amir to add Ajman’s third goal in the 57th minute.


Juan Olivera added his own and his team second goal through a penalty in the 74th minute and Al Wasl felt for a moment that they can try to finish with a tie but Waleed Ahmed took all that away when he scored Ajman’s 4th goal through a penalty in the 86th minute


By the end of Round 14 Al Wasl remain 5th with 21 points, while Ajman topple Al Ahli on the standings and reserve the 7th position with 18 points.
