Al Wasl Takes the Lead

Al Wasl has jumped to the top of the Etisalat Pro-League table with 9 points following their 3-2 win over Al Dhafra last night at Al Dhafra's home stadium. Al Wasl scored a late goal one minute before the end to deprive the home team from a deserved point. Khairy Khalfan diverted the ball into his own net to give the visitors an early lead only six minutes into the match. Boris Kabi made it 1-1 five minutes later, but Yeste from Spain netted the second goal in the 37th minute to end the first half 2-1 to Al Wasl. Hamad Al Hosani pulled one back in the 69 minute to equalize the result and substitute Saeed Al Kas scored the winning goal one minute before the final whistle. Al Dhafra remains in 10th position with only three points from four matches.

In the second match of the day played at Al Wahda's Al Nahyan Stadium in Abu Dhabi, the visiting team Al Ain held the hosts Al Wahda to a goalless draw to snatch a valuable point. But in spite of this, they have dropped to second place with 8 points while Al Wahda kept their previous position to remain in 8th place with 5 points.

Bani Yas will host Kalba and Al Nasr will play against Al Shabab tonight, kick off at 5:35 pm and 8pm respectively.
