Al Wasl plan Cultural and Educational Projects for 2013-2014
Al Wasl have pledged their commitment to supporting cultural and educational programmes for the upcoming season, starting with inter-generational activities during the Holy Month of Ramadan. Speaking at a press conference at the Club’s headquarters at the Zabeel Stadium on Thursday evening, H.E. Mohammed Al Hamadi, Board Member of Al Wasl Football Company, outlined the Club’s plans to extend its community outreach ventures.
“Al Wasl is not only a Sports Club; it is a community,” H.E. Mohammed Al Hamadi said, continuing: “We have been working on new strategies and developing projects in accordance with the recommendations of the Pro League Committee and Dubai Sports Council to offer wholesome educational and cultural programmes right throughout our Academy, up to Reserve and First Team level, as well as involving families, women and children.” Emphasising the importance of community spirit at Al Wasl, H.E. Al Hamadi detailed one particular project to be launched by the Club during Ramadan. “We will be inviting various former Al Wasl players back to the Club during the Holy Month to speak to the current squad and Al Wasl fans, strengthening bonds between generations and reinforcing the soul and history of our Club during this special time of togetherness.” H.E. Al Hamadi highlighted Al Wasl’s new ‘open door policy’, aimed at enabling greater access for fans and media and strengthening communication channels and transparency, telling the audience: “This is your Club.”
