Hickersberger: We never give up
Al Wahda’s Austrian head coach Hickersberger stressed the importance of their upcoming match against their Dubai rivals and the runner up Al Naser to be held in the Capital Abu Dhabi within the Round 14 of the Etisalat Pro League competition.
The long injury list and the absence of the team’s top players was reflected on the Austrian’s boss words that he could not hide his disappointment “Magrao, the Brazilian midfielder who has been out of action for two months, heads a growing injury list, which also includes Haider Ali, Mohammed Al Shaibah, Mahmoud Khamis, Eisa Abdulla, Saeed Al Kathiri and Khalid Jalal. Yacoub Al Hosani will miss the game through suspension, while Salem Saleh, Amer Omar and the goalkeeper Adel Al Hosani are on duty with the Olympic team.” the coach said.
"We can only play with those available, we have to count on our reserve and youth players, and I think we have done quite well under the circumstances. This has been the case all through the season, unfortunately.
"Al Nasr, of course, are enjoying their best season in a long time and are title contenders. They will be pumped up for this game but we will give them a good run as I have big confidence in my players, we never give up and hopefully we will end up with three points” Al Wahda’s boss added.
