Al Wahda and Al Ahli move forward provisionally

Both Al Wahda and Al Ahli came up with positive results beating Al Nasr and Dubai with a 3-1 and 2-0 victory respectively in the 6th round matches of the Etisalat Pro-league played on Friday October 15. They raised their tally to 11 points that put Al Wahda in the third place followed by Al Ahli in the fourth position provisionally as the other competing teams Bani Yas, Al Ain and Sharjah are to play their games on Saturday and Sunday October 16th and 17th.

Al Ahli opened round six with a lovely 3-1 win over visitors Dubai who struggled hard to collect even a single point in the league but they failed to make it for the six successive encounter. They squandered a number of scoring opportunities in front of the hosts' goal, but their efforts were rewarded in the last minute when Abu Bakr Kamara netted a consolation goal. Ahmed Khamis slammed an early goal to put the home team in the lead after 14 minutes. The losers worked hard to level the score and their French pro Michael Laurent came close to equalize the game but his close-range volley missed the target. Both teams failed to produce more goals to end the first session with a 1-0 win.

Faisal Khalil made it 2-0 after the break "60th minute" scoring the goal number 100 in the league of this season and Brazilian teammate netted the third to secure the result for his side.

In the second game of the day, Al Wahda put more pressure on visitors Al Nasr defeating them 2-0. The losers made a lot of errors and their front liners failed to score off easy chances that came their way especially Carlos Tennerio and Ismail Bangoura. The Brazilian expatriate Fernando Bayano was the first to find the net in the 33rd minute to help Al Wahda end the first half with a 1-0 lead. Bayano came 13 minutes after the break to add the second goal and he was close to put the third but his shot bounced off the upright in the 73rd minute.
