Al Shabab defeat Dibba Al Fujairah 2-1 to keep chasing Ajman
Al Shabab raised their tally to 11 points following their 2-1 win over Dibba Al Fujairah in the Etisalat Cup 8th round match held this evening at Maktoum bin Rashid Stadium in Dubai to keep chasing Group “C” leaders Ajman who are sitting on top of the standings with one point ahead. The losers are in third spot with three points.
The two teams played a balanced game especially in the opening minutes but could not create dangerous attacks. The first session which ended in a scoreless draw, saw Dibba Al Fujairah striker Ahmed Murad launching two strong shots but were saved bravely by the goalkeeper Salem Abdullah.
The visiting team took the lead only six minutes into the second half with a left footer sent by their Brazilian striker Luiz Fernando from inside the six yard area. But his countryman Luiz Da Silva brought the game into parity in the 58th minute and Edgar netted the winner for Al Shabab three minutes later with a powerful header off a cross ball switched by Sami Anbar to secure three valuable points for his side.
