Al Shabab tie with Al Gharafa 0-0

 

The UAE Football Team Al Shabab were held to a goalless draw by Al Gharafa of Qatar in their AFC Champions League Group " D" match held tonight at Maktoum Bin Rashid Stadium in Dubai. Each team have collected one point and have to wait to the final whistle of the game between Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia and Piroozi from Iran to determine their ranking in Group 4. 

Both team started the game with a strong performance looking for an early goal but the defenders of both sides and the two goalkeepers stood solid on their way and spoiled all the attackers' attempts. The hosts created two opportunities in the 28th via Haydarov from Uzbekistan and his colleague Waleed Abbas but the Qatari goalkeeper Jasim Burhan played a pioneer role in spoiling both of them. Most of the work was concentrated afterwards on the midfield zone and both teams failed to create dangerous attacks for Ciel to squander a lovely chance for Al Shabab in the injury time of the first session off the cross ball sent by Haydarov.

The hosts looked the better and dangerous side after the interval and their players were insisting to come out with a positive result. Brazilian Ciel and his countryman Kieza lost two sitters in the 50th and 72nd minutes respectively.

Both teams lost some scoring chances in the last minutes and failed to score to end the game with a goalless draw
