A heartbreaking 1-6 defeat for Al Shabab
Dubai-based Al Shabab lost with a heart breaking 1-6 defeat before their Iran rivals Piroozi who raised their tally to 4 points in the encounter that took place at Azadi Stadium in Tahran this afternoon at 4:30 pm in the Round 2 of the Group “D” matches of the AFC Champions League competition.
The hosts took the lead from the very beginning with fierce in vain attempts from the visitors to try to level the score or reduce the hard tough deficit and it was only the penalty that gave Al Shabab their lone score netted through Ciel in the 56th minute.
Piroozi opened the score in the 8th minute before they ended the first interval with a 1-0 victory to their own. The first net was scored by Ayman Zayed who later scored a hat-trick in the 47th and 53rd minutes. Gholam Reza took all his opponents’ hope away to try to compensate when he scored the 4th for his side in the 59th minute. Ali Karimi added the 5th through a penalty in the 62nd. Only few minutes before it all ended Amir Husseini took advantage that Al Shabab were then all broken down and netted his team’s 6th goal in the 87th minute.
