Al Shabab and Al Ahli meet today in the GCC final match
Al Shabab and Al Ahli are set to play today Thursday evening their second leg match of the 26th GCC Clubs Champions league at Maktoum Bin Rashid Stadium. Al Ahli won the first match held at Rashid Stadium on October 26th with a 3-2 result. The hosts hope to win this evening with a solitary goal or 2-1 to snatch the title for the second time in the history of the championship as they were crowned champions in 1992 .Al Shabab beat Al Ahli 2-0 last Sunday in the Etisalat league after losing to their rivals Al Ahli in the GCC competition before 96 hours and both will meet today for the third time in just one week time. Al Shabab's Brazilian coach Paolo Bonamego has finished preparing his team for this decisive game despite of short time. The team will have back those players who did not participate in Sunday's match like: Ismail Rabei, Villanueva, Mohammad Ahmed, Essa Mohammad, Adil Abdullah, Abdullah Darweesh, Ciel who participated in the last 10 minutes in the last game in addition to Julio Cesar, Essa Obaid, Haydarov, Waleed Abbas, Essam Dhahi, Dawood Ali, Hassan Ibrahim, Mohammad Marzoog, Salim Abdullah, Sami Anbar and Hamdan Qasim. The team will miss Suroor Salim due to injury. Al Ahli will start the game with many chances to win the GCC title for the first time in their history. Any positive result or even a draw will help them to snatch the trophy, but a defeat with 0-1 or 1-2 will secure the title for Al Shabab and therefore their Czech coach Ivan Hasek will try to secure his defense in the face of Al Shabab's strong offensive so as not to concede a goal that might make things difficult for them in the rest of the game.
