Al Shaab defeat Dibba Al Fujairah 5 -3
Al Shaab came from behind when they were one goal down to beat Dibba Al Fujairah 5-3 in the Etisalat Pro League third round match to raise their balance to 6 points the same that of Al Ain, Al Wahda and Bani Yas while the losers’ tally was frozen at only one point.
Dibba Al Fujairah scored the opening goal in the 23rd minute through their Syrian professional player Abdulrazak Al Hassan, but Al Shaab replied quickly scoring the equalizer one minute later when Brazilian Rodrego Silva headed home and Nasser Khamis added the second in the 26th minute. Careca from Brazil netted another goal in the 37th minute to end the first session with a 3-1 lead for Al Shaab.
Careca came to score his second goal and the fourth for his side eight minutes after the break capitalizing on a defensive error and Rodrego made it 5-1 in the 71st minute. Al Shaab’s players lost a number of scoring chances for Dibba Al Fujairah to reduce the deficit scoring their second goal in the first minute of the stoppage time through Najm Mohammed and Mohammed Ahmed added the third one minute later to end the game with a 5-3 for Al Shaab.
In the other game held tonight at Tahnoun bin Mohammed in Qattara, Al Ain maintained a big win beating Al Dhafra with 7 straight goals to raise their tally to 6 points while the visitors remain in their four - point previous balance. Asamoah Gyan opened the score off a penalty kick only four minutes from the starting whistle and added the second in the 20th minute to give his team an early 2-0 lead by the end of the first half. Mohammed Abdulrahman netted the third goal three minutes after the breather and his brother Omer made it 4-0 one minute later. Asamoah completed his hat – trick scoring the 5th goal and both Australian Alex Brusque and Mohammed Abdulrahman completed the rout netting the 6th and 7th goals in the 68th and 93rd minutes respectively.
