Al Shaab v Ajman Pre-Match Press Conferences

Al Shaab head coach Marius Sumudica hopes his side can build on their vital win against Kalba in the last round as they go up against Ajman on Monday night. Speaking at his pre-match press conference, the Romanian said: “Ajman are a good team with many strong attackers in their ranks, although their defense can sometimes be leaky so we hope to capitalise on this and continue on from our 2-1 win over Kalba last time out.” Sumudica confirmed that Noel Kaseke and Ahmed Hassan will miss the game due to suspension, but noted that his side coped with 7 players absent in the previous game by promoting promising Reserve team players to the starting lineup. Sumudica is hopeful of securing Etisalat Pro League survival, stating: “We need just six points from the remaining 18 available to stay in the Pro League, regardless of our closest relegation rivals Kalba and Dibba Al Fujairah, and the main thing is that we focus on our own game and playing to our maximum efforts, not concerning ourselves with other teams’ results.”

Abdulwahab Abdulkader, the head coach of Ajman, anticipates a tough game as both teams fight to win, noting that Al Shaab need all the points they can get in order to escape relegation. “All the players have been training enthusiastically and have a strong desire to always put in a good performance,” the Iraqi said at his pre-match press conference. “In our previous games we have not been focusing solely on the results, but more on the all-round performance, so I think this has enabled the team to play with more freedom and less pressure and this has helped us play our way out of the most difficult situations,” he added.
