Al Nasr keep Kalba at the bottom of the standings with a 6-1 win
Dubai – base Al Nasr retained their leadership of the the Etisalat Pro – League with 10 points following their 6-1 win over Ittihad Kalba in the fourth round match held tonight at Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum Stadium in Al Shabab Club in Dubai. Kalba are yet to open their account after losing all four matches to remain at the bottom of the table. The hosts tightened their grip on the game from the very start trying to surprise their opponents with an early goal and their Brazilian striker Bruno Cesar came close to give them the lead but his volley flew over the cross bar only four minutes into play. But Cesar came later on to compensate for his lost chance when his teammate Habeeb Al Fardan fired a close – range shot that rebounded off the goalkeeper Mohammed Abdullah for Bruno Cesar to drive it into the roof of the net scoring the opener in the 16th minute. Kalb went all out afterwards trying to level the result and they were very close to make their dreams come true but their Moroccan front liner Nabil Al Dawoodi, who was one meter far from the goal line, failed to send the ball into the net which was crossed from the right flank by Amer Deeb in the 24th minute. Humaid Ahmad squandered a lovely sitter only a few seconds later and Lima’s strong volley rebounded off the cross bar in the 28th minute.
Al Nasr continued their domination of the game creating a bagful of chances and their relentless pressure yielded in the second goal which was netted by Italian Mascara Giuseppe in the 30th minute with a perfect header. Kalba tried to recover after conceding two goals making some good efforts but could not reduce the deficit to end the first session with a 2-0 lead in favor of Al Nasr.
It was only four minutes into the second session before Mascara Giuseppe came to make it 3-0 capitalizing on a brilliant pass from Bruno Cesar who collected the ball; stepped forward; rounded up three defenders before sending the ball to his unmarked colleague Mascara.
Things became very complicated for Ittihad Kalba when their defender Idris Fawzi committed a severe error for the Iraqi midfielder Nashat Akram to control the ball but he was fouled by Fawzi inside the box for a penalty. The referee sent off Idris Fawzi with a red card and Linardo Lima did not make a mistake sending the ball into the left hand corner in the 64th minute netting the fourth goal. Kalba played the remaining minutes with ten players and Nashat Akram put the game beyond their reach when he scored the fifth goal for Al Nasr with a long – range volley in the 66th minute. Nabil Al Dawoodi pulled one back two minutes later scoring his side’s first goal in the Etisalat Pro – League. But their joy did not live long when Habib Al Fardan headed home the sixth goal in the 72nd minute. The two teams failed to add more goals afterwards to end the game with a 6-1 for Al Nasr.
In the other match of the day Dubai got the better of Al Wahda beating them 2-1 at Al Nahyan Stadium this evening. The winners, Dubai, raised their tally to 7 points to step to the second place provisionally while the losers, Al Wahda, remain with their previous six points balance. Porta gave Dubai the lead after only two minutes from the starting whistle and Marcelo brought the game into parity two minutes later. The two teams exerted hard work through the rest of the first half but could not add more goals to end this session with a 1-1 draw. Rami Yaslam scored the winner in the 81st minute securing three valuable points for his team Dubai.
