Bresciano scores a brace to help Al Nasr beat Bani Yas 2-1
Australian player Bresciano led his team Al Nasr to maintain a 2-1 victory over the visiting team Bani Yas after netting a brace in the 25th and 82nd minutes in Etisalat Pro League 7th round match held at Al Maktoum Stadium in Al Nasr Club in Dubai. Senegalese player Andre Sangahoor scored the lone goal for Bani Yas in the 69th minute. Al Nasr jumped to third spot with 13 points behind leaders Al Jazira with 16 points and second-placed Al Ain with 14 points. Bani Yas are staying at 9th place with 6 points.
Despite of the visitors' early attempts to reach the hosts goal through the movements of Amer Abdul Rahman, Sangahoor, Yousuf Jaber and Adnan Hussain and against the run of play, Al Nasr were the first to score in the 25th minute via Australian player Bresciano off a rocket-like volley that went straight into the right hand side of Bani Yas goalkeeper Mohammad Ali Gholoom.
In the second session Bani Yas's Argentinean coach Calderon was thinking in a way to level the result while his Italian counterpart Zinga was trying to retain his team's lead and add more goals if a chance comes their way. Calderon fielded on Toni from Ivory Coast to play as a second striker besides Sengahoor endeavoring to level the score. Bani Yas looked better after the breather, putting more pressure on the hosts' team which forced them to rely on counter attacks.
Sengahoor scored in the 69th minute off a long pass from Adnan Hussain, for the Senegalese striker to rest it on his chest before launching a strong left footer that beat Al Nasr goalkeeper Abdullah Mousa making it 1-1. Sengahoor came close to score the second goal for his side 9 minutes to time off a cross ball from substitute Toni, but Al Nasr goalie Abdullah Mousa deflected the ball to a corner. Bresciano netted Al Nasr second goal in the 82nd minute capitalizing on a header from Rodrego.
The winners played the last minutes with only 10 players after their player Masaud Hassan was shown the red card three minutes from the final whistle.
