Al Nasr and Al Wasl draw 1-1 in Dubai Derby match

Al Nasr and Al Wasl ended their Dubai derby match with a 1-1 draw which was held at Al Maktoum Stadium in the formers’ Club and came within the Etisalat Pro League round 19 match. Al Nasr raised their tally to 34 points taking 4th spot while Al Wasl are staying in 7th position with 26 points.

The visiting team started the game with a strong performance to take the lead with an early goal through Waheed Ismail off a stand ball switched by Argentinean player Donda 7 minutes from the word go. The hosts recovered afterwards trying to level the score after creating a number of scoring chances by Italian Luca Toni and Australian Breciano which both sitters saved by goalkeeper Ahmed Mahmoud followed by another chance for Jamal Ibrahim which was diverted by the goalie to a corner in the 24th minute.

Leonardo Lima reduced the deficit and brought the game back into parity in the 33rd minute with a rocket-like volley to end the first session with a 1-1 draw.

Both teams made good efforts after the break but failed to find the back of the net in spite of the chances that came their way to end the game with the same result of the first session.
