Al Wahda defeat hosts Al Nasr with a solitary goal
Abu Dhabi-based Al Wahda Football Team jumped four steps forward to take 5th position with four points after defeating the home team Al Nar with a solitary gaol in the second day of the Etisalat Pro-League third round match held this evening at Al Maktoum Stadium in Dubai. Al Nar remain in their previous spot, second from the bottom, with one point from three games. Mohammed Al Shehhy of Al Wahda netted the all-important goal of the match securing three valuable points for his side.
It took AL Wahda only 12 minutes before taking the lead when Mohammed AL Shehhy scored an early goal capitalizing off a severe blunder committed by a defender.AL Shehhy collected the ball inside the box and he did not hesitate to send a left-footer into the far left hand side. The home team recovered afterwards creating some good attempts and their new player Amara Diane came close to level the score when he was put free with only the goalkeeper to beat, but he failed to score as Motaz Abdullah saved bravely in the 19th minute. The home team were the better side after conceding the lone goal of the match, but they squandered all the chances they created in the entire time of the first session which ended with a 1-0 result for the visiting team.
Both teams tried their best to add more goals after the break, but they failed despite of the golden opportunities that came their way to end the encounter with the same 1-0 result of the first half.
