Al Nasr’s first-half victory

Al Nasr snatched a significant rewarding 2-1 victory over their local rivals Al Shabab swapping positions on the league table in the encounter that took place this afternoon at Al Maktoum Stadium within Round 11 of the Etisalat Pro League competition.

Luckily to the blues, their scores came in the first half of the match, or else their performance throughout the second half would have taken them in a complete different direction. The first rewarding score came at the very beginning through Masoud Hassan in the 9th minute, and Humaid Abdullah netted the winning score in the 22nd minute to end the first half with a 2-0 victory to Al Nasr.

The second half could be said to be reigned more by the greens, Al Shabab who gave up their 3rd position to their hosting opponents, tried to take advantage of their counterparts drop of performance and stressed their attacks on the first 20 minutes to finally succeed to score through a penalty in the 64th minute netted by the Brazilian Julio Cesar.

Feeling safe at the end of the first-half season Al Nasr with 21 points hold the 3rd place on the Pro League standings with more title anticipation in the second part of the competition, while Al Shabab with 19 points and ranked 4th on the table need to heal their last two league-defeats and try not to step off the golden box.
