Al Ain’s first league-defeat

The winter’s champion faced their first league-defeat against their ambitious top of the table opponents Al Nasr who earned a precious 2-0 victory in the smashing thrill that took place this evening at Al Maktoum Stadium in the final encounter of the second term premiere “Round 12” of the Etisalat Pro League competition.


It was the early score that gifted the hosts their rewarding win when Bresciano conquered Walid Salem’s net with a surprising shot. The purples dressed in white were putting a lot of pressure trying to reach an early equalizer and compensate their list of absentee, but still not their lucky day, the first half ended with a 1-0 victory to the Dubai blues.


The second half saw Scocco and Radoi aimlessly putting a lot of efforts and many times were close to score, Al Nasr grateful tonight to their goalkeeper Abdulla Mosa saved his sacred territory every time the top table team ever tried to get close. That is how the match was supposed to end but the unexpected second goal netted through Yunus Abdulla in the 93rd minute proved the competition still has a lot to say.


Al Ain keep the league summit with 27 points regardless their loss tonight, while Al Nasr topple the 2011 champions Al Jazira on the league table to settle in the second place with 24 points.
